NAIROBI NATIONAL PARK + NAIROBI CITY TOUR

This day tour picks you up from your Nairobi hotel at 5:30am. Tour visits the Nairobi National Park – only 7 km from the Central Business District where we search and maybe view rhino, lion, buffalo, zebra, giraffe, warthog, ostrich, cheetah, hippo and many more plains game.

Tour proceeds to the David Shedrick baby elephant orphanage, where we view baby elephant orphans during feeding time that starts from 11am to 12 noon. We shall enjoy lunch at the Karen Blixen coffee garden or the famous Carnivore restaurant (your choice)

During the afternoon we shall visit the Karen Blixen museum to learn more on Kenya’s colonial history.

We shall then stop at the Giraffe Center where we will have a closer view and even feed the Rothschild’s Giraffes. We shall rupup the tour at the Kazuri bead center (a self help women’s project) where we watch women artisans making unique bead products.

Later drop you off at the Nairobi hotel.

Start the day tour by visiting the most accessible and yet wild and natural, Nairobi national park just a breath and sight away from the bustling Kenya capital – Nairobi city

Established in 1946 and Kenya’s first the Nairobi National park is made up of wide open grass savannah plains.

Its scattered acacia bush is host to a wide variety of wildlife including the endangered black rhino, lions, leopards, cheetahs, hyenas, buffaloes, giraffes,bushbuck,hippopotamus and diverse birdlife with over 400 species recorded.

Stop at the David sheldrick elephant orphanage to watch in close up the nurture and feeding of orphaned elephants

Lunch at the Karen Blixen coffee garden (Tamambo restaurant)

Afternoon tour of the Karen Blixen Museum

Its history dates back to 1914, during the First World War, with the arrival of Karen Blixen from Denmark. At the foot of Ngong Hills, Karen Blixen established herself as a farmer.

After her departure in 1931, the suburbs retained the commemorative home of Karen.

This is the beautiful farmhouse where Karen Blixen, author of Out of Africa, lived between 1914 and 1931, until she left Kenya after a series of personal tragedies

Tour progresses to the Giraffe centre

The Giraffe centre is an opportunity to get up close to view giraffes as well as feed and touch them

It is a wonderful and refreshing experience

Later visit the Kazuri beads centre

The cottage industry literally supports hundreds of disadvantaged Kenyan women, by providing employment and healthcare services for them and their families
