Kenya safari tour exploring wildlife, landscapes and cultural highlights in a 12 days tour package that includes private pop up top safari minivan transport (4 x 4 Land Cruiser jeep upgrade at extra cost), unlimited game viewing drives, stops at attractions, park entrance fees and accommodation in a choice of economy, standard or luxury level safari lodges & tented camps.
The Kenya safari tour visits Samburu Game Reserve, Ol Pejeta game sanctuary, Aberdares National Park, Lake Nakuru National Park, Masai Mara Game Reserve, Lake Naivasha in the rift valley, Amboseli and the Tsavo West National Parks.
Tour departs Nairobi with an option of finishing at the Kenya coast beach resorts of Mombasa, Diani, Watamu or Malindi.
Tour is offered in a choice of economy, standard or luxury level safari lodges or tented camps depending on your safari style or budget.
Safari transport and game viewing drives are in a private pop up top safari minivan (or a 4 x 4 Land Cruiser jeep at extra cost) and accompanied by a dedicated and experienced driver / guide.
Good to know
- Tour is flexible and can be customized to your own specifications
- Sequence of visits / night stops can be adjusted to your preference
- You can suggest to omit some national parks and extend stays at others
- Safari can be made in reverse or varied in sequence
- Driving times in Kenya are estimates and can vary due to road traffic and state of road
- Tour can be modified to include Lake Bogoria if you are keen on Flamingos
- Safari can include local flights to cut on driving time if required (extra price)
- If you choose to stay at The Pelican Lodge, Sarova Woodlands or Sentrim Elementaita, note that there shall be no re-entry at Lake Nakuru National Park on the following day.
- For Kenya coast beach drop off, we may use the standard gauge train for Mombasa drop off thus reducing on driving time, avoid the notorious traffic jam and for your better all round scenery and maybe wildlife views from elevated train.

The Itinerary
- Day1
Nairobi – Samburu Game reserve
0730hrs:You shall be collected from your Nairobi hotel or Nairobi airport (Nairobi airport pick up depends on your arrival flight time)
Depart Nairobi and proceed to the Samburu game reserve.
The scenic drive is via the Kenya highlands with views of tea, coffee and subsistence farmlands.
You shall experience different climatic and vegetation zones on today’s drive including the highlands and semi arid desert conditions of northern Kenya.
Afternoon game viewing drive at Samburu.
Overnight at your Samburu safari lodge or tented camp
- Day2
Samburu Game Reserve
Day shall be spent at the Samburu game reserve with game viewing drives.
Options of combining the Samburu, Buffalo springs and Shaba reserves on game viewing drives.
Game viewing concentrates along the Ewaso Nyiro River which is the lifeline of this semi desert environment.
Other options at the Masai Mara
Overnight at your Samburu lodge or tented camp.
- Day3
Samburu Game Reserve – Ol Pejeta
Early game viewing drive at the Samburu game reserve.
Later depart for the cooler Mount Kenya and Laikipia region at the shadows of Ol Pejeta game sanctuary.
Afternoon game viewing drives including opportunities to see Rhino and Chimpanzee
Overnight at your Ol Pejeta tented camp / lodge.

- Day4
Mount Kenya –Aberdare National Park
Morning shall be spent with game viewing drives around the game sanctuary.
Later proceed to the Aberdares National Park
Afternoon transfer to a tree hotel.
Overnight at your tree lodge with game viewing from the balconies of your cabin.
What may see/do at Aberdare National Park.
Elephants, Tree hyrax, white tailed mongoose, black fronted dicker, mole rat, bushbuck, water buck, Elands, rhino, chimpanzee.
.bird watching, game viewing and photography.
NB: Only small overnight bags are allowed at the tree hotels.
- Day5
Aberdare – Lake Nakuru National Park
Later proceed to the lake Nakuru national park.
There shall be a stop to view the scenic Thompson falls at Nyahururu.
The drive via farming country and homesteads via the Great Rift Valley escarpment edge is scenic.
Afternoon bird watching and game viewing drive.
The lake Nakuru national park is home to hundreds of bird species including a few flamingoes and other bird species.

Lake Nakuru National Park – Masai Mara Game Reserve
Morning bird and game viewing drives
Proceed to the Masai Mara game reserves with stops at scenic points.
Afternoon game viewing drives.

Masai Mara Game Reserve
Today shall be a game viewing extravaganza!
Masai Mara Game reserve remains the most exciting wildlife eco-system in the Natural world.
It is host to the highest and most varied concentration of wild animals than any other wildlife park in the region.
The scenic appeal of the tree studded savannah plains, the moderate climate and diversity of wild game species makes it a one stop shop for game viewing activities.
We shall traverse the Masai Mara reserve on a full day of unlimited game viewing encountering the big five and more of the lesser game.
Picnic lunch shall be by the Mara river as we watch hippos & crocodiles or maybe the great migration (July – October)
Overnight shall be at our Masai Mara safari lodge/ Tented camp
- Day8
Masai Mara – Lake Naivasha
Game viewing drives at the Masai Mara.
Later depart Masai Mara for lake Naivasha.
Afternoon visit the Hell’s gate national park (Bicycle ride and hike)

Lake Naivasha – Amboseli National Park
Morning boat ride to explore Lake Naivasha while you view hippos, exotic birds and small game.
We shall also enjoy a guided walking safari at the Crescent Island.
Later proceed to the Amboseli national park.
Afternoon game viewing drive at the Amboseli.
Overnight at your Amboseli lodge or tented camp.

At Amboseli National Park
Day spent at the Amboseli national park with game viewing drives.
The national park is small and compact.
The mount Kilimanjaro on a clear day provides a dramatic background for wildlife photography.
Overnight at your Amboseli lodge or tented camp.
- Day11
Amboseli – Tsavo West National Park
Morning game viewing drive at the Amboseli-weather permitting there shall be awesome views of the mountain peaks
Later proceed to the Tsavo West National Park.
Scenery and game viewing drives at the Tsavo west.
Overnight at your Tsavo west safari lodge or tented camp.

Tsavo West – Nairobi or Mombasa, Diani, Bamburi, Watamu, Malindi
Game viewing drives at the Tsavo west.
Visit the Mzima springs to view hippos, crocodiles and exotic fish.
Later depart for Nairobi or proceed to Mombasa and Kenya coast beach hotels.
Safari finishes at approximately 4:30 pm to 5:00 pm for Nairobi and at approximately :30 to 6:00pm at the Kenya Coast.
